Yikes, what a pain in the ass! I'm at an Obama rally in Vegas, and was just discussing with a campaign staffer how ridiculous it is that they need this much manpower just to get people to vote. Given how broken the system is in LA county, which I figure is on the more advanced end of the spectrum nationwide, it is sadly not a big surprise getting out the vote is such a huge challenge.

I too experienced issues with my LA county absentee ballot, though not nearly as painful as yours. My first request went through, but took 10 days to be processed. So, the ballot arrived Thursday, once I had already left town. Having it FedExed to my hotel in Vegas seemed like a better alternative to trekking all the way out to Norwalk (really, Norwalk?!) before I left.

Good luck!
